Now it has been established that I love a good sale. And post Halloween is no different. I don’t personally get into all the creepy crawly parts of Halloween. But I have a little girl that is turning 2 in a couple of weeks. And she loves dress up and I hate birthdays so close to Christmas for bigger items. So I think what I have decided to do is stock up on some tiaras, tutus and other fun dress-up things. Just looking through this week’s sales flyers, there a a bunch of cute things like cowboy hats, firemen and police costumes. Stock a huge box and have at it. In the past, I have searched out those really nice quality cloth animal costumes. We have a giraffe, lion, tiger, puppy, and dragon/dinosaur. This a great idea to stock a box for your home or for Grandma’s!!!
There are a lot of things you can get and repurpose for the upcoming holidays. The little no flame candle you use in your pumpkin are great “candles” for a little persons room. Or stockpile them for when the power goes off. This makes perfect sense with the Northeast currently suffering under hurricane Sandy’s onslaught. They can also be used in luminary bags during the holidays. Or add them to your tabletop decor for a Christmas party!!!!
Clearanced candy can be used in holiday baking. And in this week’s RiteAid ad, they have the fall/Halloween decor is marked down to 50% off. And much of that is more fall and harvest motif than Halloween. You can freshen up some decor on the porch or the table for Thanksgiving for a steal of a deal!!!!!
So you get the idea, walk through the aisles of your local store and see what you find and can reuse somewhere else. I was at the dollar store last week and they had some really cute individual items for $1. Imagine what they will be next week!!! I love 50%off sale at the Dollar Tree!!
What are you going to look for? And how will you reuse it through the holidays?
